Psychology Degree

Are you a good listener? Do you have a strong desire to help others? Have you always been fascinated with how the mind works? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions you are probably a good candidate for a degree in Psychology.

Psychology is basically the study of why people think what they think and behave the way they do. By getting a degree in psychology you will learn how to assess people's behavior and provide insight and advice as to how to manage any struggles or difficulties they may be having. You will gain knowledge about different physical, mental and emotional disorders and be able to recognize their symptoms.

Some psychology degrees allow you to specialize in a certain type of disorder, age group, or population demographic. There are psychologists who work with children, families, drug addicts, or business executives. Psychologists also work in a variety of settings from private clinics, to hospitals, schools, or correctional facilities. Your interests and career goals will help you determine what area of psychology is best for you.

Psychology degrees are offered at every level, but in order to become a licensed psychologist you will need to have a doctorate or Ph.D. in Psychology. Read more about specific psychology degrees to find out what courses you will take and other available career options.
